Personal Insurance

Auto Insurance

Auto insurance can provide coverage for physical damage to the insured’s vehicle, liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage to others arising out of the insured’s operation of a vehicle, and coverage for medical treatment of the insured’s or operator’s own injuries.

Homeowners Insurance

A homeowner’s insurance policy is designed to protect the owner of a dwelling, which combines property coverage for the dwelling structure, personal property coverage for the contents, and personal liability coverage. Two important endorsements that should be added to your homeowner’s policy are Personal Property Replacement Cost and Replacement Cost Protection. Personal Property Replacement Cost is coverage for your personal property for its full replacement value with no deductions for depreciation. Replacement Cost Protection provides the full replacement value of your home in the event the current replacement value exceeds your policy limit. The coverage is limited to a certain percentage of your Dwelling coverage.

Renter’s Insurance

Renters Insurance is a personal property and liability package designed to protect a renter.

Scheduled Property Coverage

The homeowner’s policy contains certain interior limits for valuable items such as jewelry, furs, fine arts, and computers. These items can be scheduled on your policy for their appraised value. Additional coverage is provided for mysterious disappearance and breakage.

Personal Umbrella Insurance

Personal umbrella insurance coverage is a special liability policy that serves three main functions: provide high excess coverage over a primary or underlying liability policy; provides broader coverage than the primary liability policy, usually excess of a self-insured retention; and provides a drop-down feature that automatically replaces coverage provided by underlying policies when they are reduced or exhausted by losses.

Dwelling Fire Coverage

A dwelling fire insurance policy covers the structure. In addition, it may include the perils of damage by burglars, falling objects, fire or lightning and internal explosion as well as losses of rent.

Earthquake Coverage

An Earthquake insurance policy provides coverage for loss or damage caused by an earthquake. The basic Earthquake policy is designed to cover the primary living structure: $1,500.00 for additional living expenses during repairs and $5,000.00 for personal property, additional insurance may be purchased.

Flood Coverage

A flood Insurance policy is designed to protect the policyholder for damage to property caused by the peril of flood.

Mobile Home Insurance

Mobile home insurance is a package policy, similar to a homeowner’s policy, written on a permanently located mobile home. To qualify for homeowner’s coverage, the mobile home must be at least 10 feet wide and 40 feet long.

Motorcycle Insurance

There are three types of policies available for motorcyclists, although the coverage depends on which policy you choose. Liability insurance covers property damage and bodily injury to the other person when you’re at fault in an accident. Economy coverage usually includes both liability and comprehensive theft insurance. Lastly the complete insurance package includes liability and comprehensive as well as theft and collision, which covers damages to your motorcycle if you have an accident.

Watercrafts

Watercrafts are covered under a package policy similar to the personal auto policy in that it provides coverage for incidents arising out of the use of recreational watercraft for third-party liability, first-party physical damage and bodily injury, and often, uninsured boaters. Physical damage coverage includes the boat and miscellaneous equipment permanently attached to the boat (spars, sails, rigging, and machinery). This insurance is generally used for recreational watercraft over 16 feet in length but less than 28 feet.

Boat

A boat policy covers physical damage to the boat and associated equipment, such as boat carriers and trailers, fuel containers, electric starting equipment, and controls if they are supplied by the manufacturer as a part of the outboard motor. Usually, coverage for the battery is excluded. The policy is generally used to insure outboard motor boats less than 16 feet in length.

All Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

ATV coverage includes that of the personal auto policy that expands coverage to include motorcycles, mopeds and recreational vehicles, such as motor homes and golf carts. This policy provides coverage for physical damage to the insured’s vehicle, liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage to others arising out of the insured’s operation of a vehicle, and coverage for medical treatment of the insured’s or operator’s own injuries.

Dirt Bike

Dirt Bike coverage is added to a personal auto policy for liability and physical damage arising from a moped. Often, the policy will specifically exclude medical payments coverage. (A moped is a motorized bicycle that can be peddled or operated by its motor.)

Recreational Vehicle

Recreational vehicle coverage includes that of the personal auto policy that expands coverage to include motorcycles, mopeds and recreational vehicles, such as motor homes and golf carts. This policy provides coverage for physical damage to the insured’s vehicle, liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage to others arising out of the insured’s operation of a vehicle, and coverage for medical treatment of the insured’s or operator’s own injuries.
